Dr. Yoo-Wook Kwon now is an associated professor, Seoul National University and Seoul National University Hospital. He earned his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Pusan National University. From 1991 to 2001, Dr. Kwon worked with Dr. Lobanenkov Victor in Epigenetics and Mechanism study of CTCF at the National Institute of Health, USA. He found novel function of CTCF in Enhancer and investigated the mechanism. Since then, he moved to the Korea, joining Seoul National University Hospital, working on stem cell biology, inflammation and cell metabolism. He found novel receptor for resistin and published in Cell Metabolism. And he developed very efficient method to generate protein derived iPS cells and induced cardiomyocytes (iCM).
