Jinjun Shi is an Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and a faculty member in the Center for Nanomedicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received his PhD degree from the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University in May 2008. His research involves a highly interdisciplinary combination of nanotechnology, biomaterials, drug delivery, immunotherapy, and antioxidative therapy. In particular, his laboratory is interested in the rational development of innovative biomaterials and nanoparticle platforms for effective delivery of biomacromolecules (such as siRNA, mRNA, and protein) and for biomedical applications in cancer, inflammatory diseases, and others. He has authored over 55 peer-reviewed papers and is an inventor of over 45 issued/pending patents worldwide. He has also received many awards, such as the NIH K99/R00 career development award from National Cancer Institute, the Movember Challenge Award (2013) and Young Investigator Award (2014) from the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the Concept Award (2018) from the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.
