Dr Rongjun Chen is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. After obtaining his MSc degree in Materials Science from Tsinghua University in 2003, he studied for his PhD degree at the University of Cambridge during 2003 – 2007, with focus on polymer drug delivery. His postdoctoral work at the University of Cambridge focused on manufacture of clinical-grade viral vectors for gene therapy. He started his tenure-track academic position at the University of Leeds in September 2009 and then moved to Imperial College London in May 2013. His research interests focus on biomaterials, nanomedicine, targeted drug delivery and cell therapy. He has received the BHRC Senior Translational Research Fellowship, IChemE Runner-Up Global Award for Biotechnology 2018, Pfizer Project Award, and CamBridgeSens Innovation Award,
